It cracks and pops as the record round unevenly for a moment…and then, issuing from the horn, something he has never in his life heard before. Music. Preston’s throat knots as the first notes of the bassoon distantly sound, building…mounting… And it only gets worse from there. After a moment, he must sit, he has begun to shake so badly. Helpless in its spell, he can only listen, astonished, as the towering magnificence of the first movement washes over him. Christian Bale calls Zach Guillot, an 8 year old boy battling leukemia who’s a huge Batman fan & they have the most darling conversation about rainy weather, Halloween costumes & most important, how awesome Batman is. Bale tells Zach, “Lots of different people have played him just like you and me. Everyone can share being Batman” & Zach tells Christian about how his brother likes Robin & his best friend dressed up like Catwoman for Halloween & accompanied Zach dressed as Batman in a homemade Batmobile & my grinchy heart grew three sizes!
Christian also told Zach that he would tell the director of the movies, the lady who plays Catwoman & the man who plays Bane about him so yes, my fangirly heart also grew three sizes today.
